BBQ Pit Boys Potato Bombs

Howdy,

I know I haven’t posted in a while, but last week was not a good week for Egging. I’ve had lots of evenings working and the weather here got crazy cold last week. Still gotta get that patio heater!!!

On Saturday I decided to make Niner Nachos to cheer on my beloved San Fransisco 49ers and the intention was to Egg them, but we had a bit of a storm over night and I spent 3 hours shoveling and snowblowing which left me with a bit of a chill. It went down past -30C at night with the wind, so I ended up making them in the oven. If the Niners make it to the Superbowl, I will do them again then.

In the meantime, I was looking at the BBQ Pit Boys site and came across this video for Potato Bombs! They are hollowed out and stuffed russet potatoes that you then wrap in bacon and cook on your BBQ. They used a Weber but you could use a Big Green Egg. I seriously need to try this. It looks so simple but so tasty!

Here is the link to the video

Check it out!

Happy Egging!!!

  1. Oh yeah, them potato bombs are a good time. Nice choice.
If my calculations are right, -30c equals -22F. You could have handled that! That’s like Miami Beach to a Canadian!

Normally -30C is shorts weather, but I just had a chill that I couldn’t shake. Plus by cooking them inside I saw the AMAZING ending to the Baltimore/Denver game :-)
